Position Title: Ritchie Center Cook II.

Position Summary:
The Cook II is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, production standards, and food safety guidelines. This position supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring food is prepared efficiently and consistently, according to Sodexo standards, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The Cook II may assist with training team members, monitoring food production, and ensuring a positive dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, production standards, and food safety guidelines.
- Ensure food quality, proper portioning, presentation, and temperature control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with HACCP standards.
- Assist with inventory, food storage, stock rotation, and minimizing food waste.
- Support daily kitchen operations, special events, and catering as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient food production and excellent customer service.
Shifts typically range from 6–8 hours depending on game schedule and attendance.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food preparation and commercial kitchen operations preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $20.64–$25.02/hour depending on experience.
